Stellaris Update Delays: A Necessary Slowdown
Paradox Interactive has announced that updates for Stellaris will slow down due to challenges with QA testing and bug fixes. The rapid release of patches, including the controversial 4.0 update and its subsequent hotfixes, has led to more issues than solutions. For instance, recent updates caused problems like random biomass destruction in Wilderness empires and save game corruption. To address this, Paradox plans a more measured approach, with larger, more impactful updates rather than frequent small ones. Open beta testing will be used to ensure stability before live releases. The next major update is expected in August, giving QA testers enough time to vet changes. Developers are also focusing on AI improvements and gameplay tweaks, such as fixing pop stratum issues. This strategy aims to balance the need for updates with the importance of quality, though fans may miss the rapid iteration they’ve grown accustomed to. Read more about the new update schedule.
