Shooter cosmetics reach a new low with Trump, Kamala, and a neckbeard keyboard warrior all available on day one of this new battle royale
Ya'll ever see a videogame skin so bad you're forced to immediately go to sleep? My eyes rolled all the way back in my head perusing the day one store offerings of Off The Grid, an NFT-powered battle royale that launched yesterday on Steam. For the low price of 74 GUN, you can grab the "PC gamer set," characterized by a heavy-set dude with a neckbeard, bad skin, and a keyboard strapped to his chest. These skins include a Trump vest with a "Stop Woke" sticker and a Kamala vest with a "Legalize It" weed sticker. Prices are shocking, with the Trump skin going for nearly $200. Developer Gunzilla Games seems to have avoided Steam's ban on NFT and crypto games, but the humor feels like edgelord nonsense. Initial player feedback highlights issues with performance and the overall crypto BS. In short, Off The Grid's cosmetics are more a reflection of cringe than creativity.
