Nebula-class Gas Harvester

“Where others see storms, we see fuel.”

Want to craft your own starship like this? You can generate, sculpt, and export 3D models directly at studio.tripo3d.ai — the same AI studio used to create the Wardrome fleet.

Overview

The Nebula-class Gas Harvester is one of the most massive industrial vessels in the Wardrome Technocracy Fleet, designed to extract and refine volatile elements from the dense atmospheres of gas giants and nebular clouds.
Its work is dangerous, its purpose essential — the Nebula transforms chaos into energy, collecting the raw matter that powers every ship, weapon, and city of the Fleet.

Each vessel operates as a flying refinery, part collector, part reactor, part factory.
Hovering inside storms of ionized gas and plasma lightning, the Nebula converts hydrogen, helium, and exotic isotopes into stabilized fusion cores for redistribution across the Technocracy’s fleets.

Design & Structure

The ship’s elongated hull houses four colossal intake spires, each kilometers long, extending into the clouds to siphon charged gases through magnetic funnels.
The collected material passes through tri-phase purification chambers, where gravitic compression and plasma filtering extract usable isotopes.

Along its dorsal ridge, enormous radiator fins shimmer like molten metal, venting excess heat and shaping the surrounding clouds into spiraling vortices visible from orbit.
At the ship’s stern, the Aurora Engines emit continuous blue-white trails — both propulsion and a stabilizing magnetic field that prevents implosion during gas harvesting.

Crew sections are minimal and heavily shielded. Most operations are handled by autonomous drones and the onboard industrial AI known as Refinex, which controls every process from intake to containment.

Propulsion & Power Systems

The Nebula-class is powered by its own product: refined Helion-X plasma cores.
These are stored in massive cryogenic tanks deep within the ship’s spine, circulating energy to the magnetic harvesters and refinery decks.

For maneuvering within high-pressure environments, it uses a Graviton Buoyancy Field — essentially letting the vessel "float" within the turbulent gas layers while maintaining stability.
A specialized Vortex Shield deflects micro-meteorites and ion storms, transforming kinetic impacts into usable electrical charge.

Operational Role

Each Nebula-class serves as both refinery and supplier, stationed in orbits around gas giants or within dense nebular fields.
Their mission includes:

  • Extraction of hydrogen, helium, and exotic particles.
  • Refinement into usable plasma cores and fuel rods.
  • Distribution of energy materials to fleet power ships and depots.
  • Environmental analysis and storm pattern modeling.

Their presence is often announced by luminous trails and the hum of cyclonic intake turbines — a sound the crew calls “the voice of the storm.”

History & Deployment

The prototype, WDS-40 “Stormfounder,” was launched in Cycle 4528 after the Fleet’s external supply lines collapsed during the Siege of Rion-6.
Its success marked a turning point: from dependence on planetary refineries to complete energy autonomy.

Modern Nebula-class ships operate in trios, forming Harvest Clusters that can process an entire Jovian atmosphere in under two cycles.
Several are permanently stationed in the Helion Belt, where nebular density provides infinite harvest potential — though communications with those crews are sporadic at best.

Notable Technologies

System Description
Aurora Engines Dual-purpose thrusters generating magnetic containment fields.
Graviton Buoyancy Field Stabilizes the ship inside dense gas layers.
Tri-Phase Purification Chambers Multi-stage plasma refining system for isotope extraction.
Refinex Industrial AI Oversees all refinery operations with adaptive process logic.
Vortex Shield Array Converts atmospheric turbulence into usable electrical energy.

Legacy

The Nebula-class Gas Harvester embodies the Wardrome Technocracy’s relentless pursuit of self-sufficiency.
It sails through storms that would tear lesser ships apart, transforming chaos into order, and storms into light.
Without it, the Fleet would burn out within months; with it, the Technocracy burns forever.

“We mine the breath of giants and forge it into our own.”
