My speakers automatically go into standby mode and its driving me mad
Having purchased the Logitech Z407s, I was initially pleased, but their power-saving mode is a major flaw. After a short period of inactivity, the speakers go into standby, taking three to four seconds to reactivate. This delay means that crucial audio cues like notifications are frequently missed, leading to frustration. Some blame EU regulations for this design choice, which feels excessive and counterintuitive. While there are workarounds, such as using Soundkeeper, it's disappointing to need such a fix. The hassle of managing speaker settings detracts from the overall experience. In essence, I shouldn’t have to resort to background programs for basic functionality. If I want my speakers off, I should be able to turn them off myself! The environmental intentions behind the design don’t justify the inconvenience. Ultimately, the speakers are good but this issue is a significant oversight.
