Microsoft Adds Full Stereo Bluetooth LE Audio for Gaming to Windows 11
Microsoft's latest update for Windows 11 finally embraces stereo Bluetooth LE audio, a necessary step for gamers. Previously, using a mic while gaming led to muddy audio and loss of spatial effects, which was frustrating. Now, users can enjoy super wideband audio (32 kHz) in stereo without compromising communication. However, this feature is only available in Windows 11 24H2, leaving many users behind. There are also hardware compatibility concerns, as both the PC and headset must support the latest standards. While this update is a welcome change, the lag in implementation raises questions about Microsoft's responsiveness to user needs. For many, this improvement will be a game-changer, enhancing the overall gaming experience. "Ray-traced graphics mean little if audio quality suffers." If the updates continue, Windows may finally catch up with audio expectations in gaming. Yet, for now, those still on older systems might need to rethink their audio setups.
