Intel's Core Ultra 120: A Disappointing Release
The Intel Core Ultra 120 is a disheartening entry in the processor market, with pricing that feels utterly disconnected from its capabilities. At nearly three times the cost of comparable AMD chips, it raises serious questions about value. While it boasts six P-cores, the architecture is essentially a rehashed Alder Lake with no E-cores, lacking innovation. The performance is marginally better than the Core i5 12400, underlining its outdated design. For consumers, the Ryzen 5 5500 remains a far more compelling option at a fraction of the price. If Intel's pricing reflects a strategy for market dominance, it's destined to fail. Ultimately, the Core Ultra 120 feels more like a marketing ploy than a genuine upgrade. It’s a shame, as the potential for a budget-friendly gaming processor was there. If these prices stick, I can't recommend this CPU to anyone. Consumers deserve better from Intel than this rehash of old technology.
